Prospective Foster Carers
Please give us a call or apply online. When you call we will ask you a few simple questions:
- Are you over 21
- Do you have a spare room?
- Who lives with you?
- Are you fit and healthy?
- Have any previous fostering or child care experience?
From these simple questions we will
decide to send you an information pack. This pack will answer many of
the questions you have about caring for a child. We will then call you
to arrange to meet with your family at a suitable time for you.
During your initial visit we will talk to you about the types of
children we care for. Most children we care for are aged 8-18 but some
are younger, however many of the children will have experienced trauma
in their lives and may need a short term or a long term placement.
After your home visit a report will be prepared, following which, a
decision will be reached about progression to assessment. We then would
send you a formal application form to complete and invite you to our
“Skills to Foster Training”.
