Your Development

At CFFA we are committed to offering high quality in order for you to function in your role as a foster carer. We offer a varied range of training; some core training is required such as Safer Caring. Training is mandatory to keep your approval as a carer and we expect carers to take part in all training provided. All carers are also required to complete the Child Workforce Development Councils Portfolio. This tracks your learning and development within the first year of your fostering career, it is not a big piece of work and your supervising social worker will guide you through it. You will also have the opportunity to extend your learning by undertaking further NVQ / BTEC courses available to you. Your supervising social worker will discuss your training needs during fortnightly supervision.
