Representation & Complaints
In compliance with the stipulations laid down in Regulation 18 of the Fostering Services Regulations 2002, Children First Fostering Agency has in place, representation and complaints procedures, to deal with issues raised by children, foster carers, parents and others.
Children First’s Complaint Procedures include a provision for foster carers to make complaints on their own behalf and may deal with such matters as termination of appointment following an unfavourable review, or termination of a placement.
Local Authorities with children in placement, Ofsted, and the area authority will be consulted and kept fully informed of all matters of complaint.
When an issue relating to child protection is investigated by a local authority or the police, Children First will regard the result of such findings as binding and will not therefore institute its own complaint procedures on such matters.
